It's taken me a while to get to a computer because yesterday we spent the day helping my mum move house. For those of you who have a house move in your recent memory you will either have blocked out the horror or will be sucking your teeth in sympathy now. When I tell you that mum's moved from the 3 bedroom house she's lived in for 30 years (and which my sister and I grew up in) to a 1 bedroom flat, I reckon I'll need to give you a minute to pick yourself up off the floor...
... feeling better? So, I thought I'd be posting to retell the horrors of yesterday and to officially anounce that we are going to move into the house she's vacated, which needs lots of work doing on it and is going to be Bernie and my little (read: BIG) project for the next while, but then three things happened:
1. I got my first 100 views in my Etsy shop for the sunset necklace. Granted, 100 views do not make a sale (as the proverb goes) but then I quite like the sunset necklace, so I'm not too sad about it still being in my possession (which is the first sign of an abysmal business woman),
2. I made my second sale! Which is probably not especially exciting to anyone other than me ('Two sales? Two? Come on!' I hear you cry), but that's two people apart from me who like my stuff enough to put their money where their mouths are (did you spot the plural there?).
3. A very nice lady called Caroline not only gave me some superb advice to make some improving tweaks to my shop, but also listed me in her Etsy Treasury (which is a way that registered Etsy users can curate an exhibition of items they especially like on the site). Check it out (I'm the last item on the third row):
And the next time you need buttons or ribbons, or any number of other lovely supplies, make sure you visit her shop (because people don't have to be helpful or nice - and often aren't - and I think we should support the good ones first).
So, just use this post to bask in my reflected glory for now, and I'll tell you the story of Our New House (complete with some photos, but only if you're really good) in a couple of days.

I've avoided asking how the move went because...well - if I tell you I last moved 6 years ago and still haven't unpacked... yeah.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you found my suggestions helpful - or at least, not unspeakably impertinent!
Was - literally - just reading this when my post arrived including the gorgeous necklace from your shop. Thankyou so much, it's fab!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it all!
